Speech and Language Therapy

Speech and language therapists work with people from all walks of life who have not only communication impairments (language difficulties, speech disabilities, voice difficulties) but also hearing difficulties and swallowing disabilities. Activities include prevention, logopaedic diagnosis, giving advice and treating communication impairments in people of all ages.

The speech and language therapy course at hsg leads to a Bachelor of Science degree. In addition, by passing the state examination in their 6th semester students are eligible for the professional title of speech and language therapist. The speech and language therapy course is characterized by sound theoretical training closely linked to practical teaching. The course provides students with the competencies necessary for working independently as speech and language therapists and enables them to critically reflect on scientific insights, guided by the theoretical knowledge they have acquired.
