Proof of German Language Proficiency

At the hsg, lectures are held in German. At present, there are no preparatory language courses or language exams offered by the hsg. This is why it is absolutely necessary to furnish evidence of sufficient German language proficiency before starting your studies.

Please note

It is impossible to apply for a place to study or to start your studies at the Hochschule für Gesundheit without submitting one of the proofs named below (or other evidence having the same status). You can prove evidence of your German language proficiency with:

  • TestDaF 4x4 - Test of German as a foreign language on which the applicant has achieved DaF level 4 (TDN4) test results in all four parts of the exam (reading comprehension, listening comprehension, written expression, oral expression).
  • DSH 2 – Certificate demonstrating that an applicant has passed a German language examination for the admission of foreign applicants to higher education institutions on which the applicant has achieved level 2 exam results (DSH).
  • ZOP / KDS / GDS / Level C2 - the Zentrale Oberstufenprüfung (ZOP), the Kleines Deutsches Sprachdiplom (KDS) or the Großes Deutsches Sprachdiplom (GDS) (worldwide-recognized certificates) issued by the Goethe Institutes.
  • Feststellungsprüfung (Assessment Test for Admission to Higher Education Institutions in Germany) – Certificate demonstrating that the applicant has passed the examination for the assessment of foreign applicants’ qualifications for studying in Germany.
  • German in Final Exams of Secondary Education (Abitur)/Course of Study in German? – If you have completed a course of study in German in your home country or can furnish evidence of having been examined in the subject German in the final exams of your secondary education, please submit the relevant evidence so that it can be determined whether a repeat language exam can be dispensed with in your case.
