ISP · International Study Programme

We are pleased to announce a semester-long programme of study in English, under the auspices of the Erasmus+ Programme, designed for students from our partner universities! The International Study Programme, titeled “Social Work and Health Professions in the Context of Culture and Diversity” is organized and implemented in cooperation with the Protestant University in Bochum, the "Evangelische Hochschule Rheinland-Westfalen-Lippe" (Protestant University of Applied Sciences). The programme features seminars in both universities as well as courses taught by international scholars and practitioners from our partner universities worldwide.

When?

Semester programme: 17th of March - 15th of July 2022

What are the contents?

The programme is designed for students of Social Work, Inclusion, Public Health, Nursing, Midwifery, Physiotherapy, Speech and Language Therapy, Occupational Therapy and interdisciplinary degree programmes in health and/or diversity and related areas. A module overview of the 2022 programme can be accessed on the right for reference.

What kind of courses?

A blend of semester-long seminars and compact courses, classroom seminars and practical workshop-courses, visits to local and regional agencies and facilities of Health and Social Work.

Attainable Credits?

Students participating for one semester including exams can earn up to 34 Credit Points (ECTS credits). Participants completing one course without exam can get a certificate of attendance.

Finances?

Neither university charges study fees, but there is a student contribution of 330 Euros which covers student services and a public transport ticket for the whole state of North-Rhine-Westphalia. You may apply for Erasmus+ funding via your home university if applicable.

Who is eligible?

Applicants must have completed one year of undergraduate study, have English language skills of CEFR level B1 or better, and a home university that partners with EvH RWL or HS Gesundheit.

How to apply?

Application Deadline: 30 November 2021

International students apply at their home university for ERASMUS+ funding and should be nominated at Hochschule für Gesundheit (or Evangelische Hochschule). Freemovers can contact the International Office (internationalofficehs-gesundheit "«@&.de) directly.

HS Gesundheit-students register via mail to internationalofficehs-gesundheit "«@&.de until 24th of February 2022, indicating:

  • their name
  • study programme
  • matriculation No.
  • title of the favoured course

Places are limited, so registrations via online-campus will not be accepted without prior registration via e-mail. We will send out confirmations after the 24th of Feburary.

The Universities

EvH RWL

The Evangelische Hochschule Rheinland-Westfalen-Lippe, Protestant University of Applied Sciences (or EvH RWL) educates students for careers in social work, education, diaconal and nursing care professions. Currently, six bachelor and two master degree pro-grammes are offered, of which Social Work is the largest. Founded in 1971, the university is supported by the Protestant Churches in this region and is fully accredited by the State; with ca. 2,400 students, the EvH RWL is the largest of its kind in Germany.
Protestant in origin and ethos, it is an in-tercultural, inclusive and family-friendly university with what students value as a warm and communicative atmosphere.

HS Gesundheit

The Hochschule für Gesundheit - University of Applied Sciences (or HS Gesundheit) offers ten bachelor and four master degree programmes in health-care professions and health sciences.
Founded in 2009, the state university offers its ca. 1,700 students a modern approach to teaching, close links between theory and practice, early networking with external practitioners, and intensive support during the course of studies. As a partner of the Healthcare Campus North-Rhine-Westphalia, the Hochschule für Gesundheit explores broad perspectives for its students in the healthcare sector.
